Shared Services is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable services to all of our Line of Business partners. Aviation Services provides transportation & aerial support for personnel within the PG&E service area and other destinations as necessary to meet Company objectives.

Position Summary

Pilots PG&E aircraft for the transportation of passengers and cargo to and from various destinations. Ensures all aircraft personnel and passengers are in adherence and compliance to all PG&E guidelines, FAA regulations, and federal, state, and local laws. Collaborates with the flight team to ensure compliance, safety, and cleanliness of an aircraft. Responds to and reports all in-flight emergencies and malfunctions. Conducts all required flight planning and inspects aircraft for defects and malfunctions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Acts as a co-pilot to assist with the operation of an aircraft.
  • Assists with the starting of aircraft engines, operating controls, and piloting of aircraft to transport passengers, freight, and/or equipment.
  • Calculates and monitors fuel consumption, ensures sufficient fuel for flight plans, and oversees the loading and fueling for aircraft.
  • Conducts all required flight planning and inspects aircraft for defects and malfunctions.
  • Coordinates and communicates with the ground crews to ensure proper and safe pre/post-flight operations.
  • Coordinates and communicates with vendors regarding services required for flight operations.
  • Coordinates and ensures accurate compliance and communications with air traffic control.
  • Ensures compliance, safety, and cleanliness of an aircraft.
  • Inspects and verifies passenger, cargo, and check-in luggage distributions and fuel amounts to ensure that weight and balance specifications are in compliance with all PG&E guidelines, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, and federal, state, and local laws.
  • Maintains and updates the daily flight sheets after the completion of every flight and documents any incidents and/or issues.
  • Monitors aircraft systems and indications to ensure proper and accurate aircraft performance.
  • Monitors weather conditions and estimated times of arrival and departure.
  • Oversees the fuel procurement for aircraft and provides the best value to PG&E regarding safety and cost.
  • Participates within the safety program and provides feedback and input on the continuous improvement, quality, and performance of aircraft and its services.
    For Patrol Pilot in addition to the preceding responsibilities,
  • Patrol Pilot:
    Acts as the rank of pilot-in command within an aircraft.
  • Patrol Pilot:
    Supports all gas department patrol activities as required to include video review, process improvement and development and additional duties as assigned.
  • Performs and ensures all required pre/post-flight operational checklists and inspections are completed.
  • Responds to and reports all in-flight emergencies and malfunctions.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Flight experience, multi-engine, 500 hours
  • Flight experience, total flight time, 1,500 hours
  • Flight experience, turbine, 500 hrs
  • FAA-Federal Aviation Administration Medical 2nd Class certification
  • FAA-Federal Aviation Administration CPL-Commercial Pilot license

Desired:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in aviation safety management

  • First Aid and CPR certification

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
