Proposal Specialist at APTIM Concord, CA

J ob Overview:
APTIM is searching for a Proposal Specialist capable of independently managing proposals, including kickoff meetings, content planning, content development, and review cycles.
A candidate with a balanced understanding of federal proposals, and state and local proposals is preferred.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Lead development of government-client proposals of various sizes with a primary focus on compliance, win strategy, and content development.

Support Senior Proposal Managers with higher dollar value or strategic efforts as volume lead or writer
Take end-to-end ownership of proposal development and related support processes, including:

Developing and maintaining proposal management tools such as compliance matrices, schedules, outlines, storyboards, win themes, and action items
Working with the capture team to conceptualize and develop strategic win themes and discriminators
Leading a team of writers, graphic artists, schedulers, estimators, procurement, contracts, and other key proposal staff from kickoff through proposal delivery
Writing and editing proposal/marketing narrative
Leveraging existing archived proposal information
Interviewing technical and program staff to extract critical information
Tracking all solicitation amendments and modifications
Performing quality and compliance checks of all proposal sections and volumes
Participating in the development of oral presentation slide concepts and scripting, as needed
Closely interacting with capture managers, program and project managers, strategic business unit leaders, and technical professionals Basic
Qualifications:

Critical attributes include exceptional organization, time management, multitasking, communication, and teamwork skills
Ability to manage concurrent assignments
Ability to motivate along with a do-whatever-it-takes attitude
Ability to manage situations involving high stress and deadline pressure
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, engineering or related discipline
Five or more years of government-client proposal experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, high-volume proposal environment is preferred
Some large (>$10M) federal proposal experience is required
Demonstrated organizational capability and ability to balance multiple competing priorities under deadlines
Ability to conceptualize and write compelling, marketing-oriented proposal narrative, as required
Familiarity with APMP/Shipley-based proposal processes preferred
Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite is required
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite is preferred
Excellent command of English grammar and punctuation is required
Proven ability to work remote with little to no supervision is preferred
Although not extensive, some travel and evening and weekend work may be required Additional Desirable
