Step into Your New RoleWe are looking for a Station Engineer to join our Concord, CA office.
The Station Engineer develops a broad knowledge and skills in various station and facility projects, independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.
The Station Engineer collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments and may be required to perform activities such as station and plant design, cost estimating, field measurements, field testing, preparation and correction of field drawings, ordering material, initiation of permits, preparing operating and maintenance instructions, data analysis, compilation and reporting of technical data, construction support, subcontractor management and performance of other related duties.
Consideration for a Station Engineer position requires the following certifications or
Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering3-6 years relevant experienceTechnical communicationProficient use of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPointUtility business understanding (Desired)Valid Driver's licensePerform and manage moderate design tasksPrepare portions of project documentsPerform research and investigationsProject Management:
Manage multiple projects, prioritization, time management and delegating work to team membersEvaluate methodologies, best practice, tools, processes, procedures and technology; assessing potential fit, benefit, and impact for engineering workSuggest improvements to process, and is a knowledge resource for other team membersEngineer-In-Training Certification (Desired)Working knowledge of CAD and GIS software (Desired) As a Station Engineer, you will be expected to:
Prepare designs, calculations, drawings, layouts, and studies from field inspections, preliminary sketches, specifications, and instructions requiring knowledge of engineering practices and shop and field proceduresReview designs and documentation to ensure compliance with codes, standards and design criteriaAcquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methodsField visits to facilities to obtain on-site information applicable to scopePerform gas system network and hydraulic analysisUnderstand and utilize station maintenance practicesUnderstand gas metering, regulation and SCADAPrepare construction specification and bid packageUtilize calculators and software to size equipment based on flow parametersPerform station design and material selectionCreate feasibility studiesDevelop status reports with task completion, progress, challenges, and solutionsOversee field testing of newly installed facilitiesUtilize modeling software for Pipe Stress Analysis assessment and generate reportWork closely with other workgroups at our clients' place of business and KLF officesCoordinate various inspection and testing methods, gather data, analyze, and report findingsDemonstrate sound engineering judgmentAssign tasks to and coordinate with drafting and administrative staffAssign tasks to and coordinate work of Associate Engineers and technicians or administrative staff within teamProvide guidance, instruction, and coaching to entry-level and other Engineers on teamAssist in determining schedule & budget requirements Move Forward with KleinfelderKleinfelder has been connecting great people to the best work since 1961.

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California's Equal Pay Act.
Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
Salary range:
$72,370-$97,259.
